GBP £ now below 40 Baht.

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Its not just the British pound which is has gradually fallen against the strong Thai Baht, other currencies have fallen as well.
Back in 2006 you could get 70 Baht to 1 pound, so taking in factors like inflation prices have more or doubled.
Its interesting to note the Chinese RMB has remained fairly stable against the Baht over the last ten years.
In my personal opinion the LOS is no longer a COST EFFECTIVE holiday destination to visit. Luckily there are many countries in SE Asia that are cheaper to visit :)
