Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: At 11:40 pm on May 29, 2019, a luxury high-speed car (police plate 2-5769), driven by a high-ranking police official, crashed into two motorbikes before coming to an abrupt halt after hitting a traffic sign and then smashing into a power pole near Wat Samrong Andet in Phnom Penh Thmey district, Khan Sen Sok. Witnesses say that the driver appeared to be extremely drunk.
The drunk driver has been identified as the Deputy Chief of Traffic Police of Phnom Penh. The official, who was obviously unharmed, left the accident scene almost immediately, and the car was towed away to the police station. The two motorbikes were wiped out in the accident, and the two drivers were seriously injured and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.

On the night of 29 May 2019 on Street 1019, Sangkat Phnom Penh Thmei, Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh, Ly Leang Chheng caused a serious accident through drunk driving, crashing into two motorbikes, leaving one victim dead and the other injured in hospital.
The officer ran away from the accident scene, but later gave himself up. He has now been sent to the Phnom Penh Court of First Instance for legal action. He will be ordered to make compensation payments to the families of both accident victims.
