UK Euro Election Results - Brexit Party Wins

Post by Doc67 »

Brexit clear winners with Lib Dems making big gains. Labour well down and the Conservatives pretty much wiped out.

Take your pick of the commentary but the Guardian has no paywall or registration unlike the Telegraph so you can read it all

So it seems Britain is that much closer to unfriending the EU on Facebook now...

30% are 'the people' now?

OK, edit. 33.3%. My 30% was based on exit polls.

numbers based on google chart

Brexit Party - 31.7%
Lib Dem - 18.6%
Labour - 14.1%
Green - 11.1%
Tory - 8.7%

What does that mean then?

If you are grouping parties together, Brexit & Tory against Lib Dem, Lab & Green then again it is pretty even (leaning towards remain)

or if you ignore the confusion with Labour & Tory then 35% leave vs 35% remain (expanding to include UKIP, Change UK & SNP)

I am not sure the results really tell you anything, other than the remain vote is more spread

I’m so confused.
Why did the EU elections involve the UK when they are leaving!

Is it just a taster of what’s gonna happen when there’s a general election?

Because the UK is still in the EU, so they had to hold the election.
There are people who cannot imagine that there are other ways of life than their own life.

It just shows how extremely divided the UK is these days. Nothing more, nothing less.

And everyone on each side claiming 'they represent the people' are just populist liars.

if the brexit party wins they will block any attempt the eu makes to fuck with the uk and their leaving the EU

interesting times ahead
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Ok.

So what’s the % that is “fair” and represents the populous?
60%, 55%, 51%?

The result of the referendum was leave. Why do people insist it doesn’t represent the will of the people? (Aside from the shit show at Westminster)

Fucking mess.
