Tiered = different prices for different speeds or data quantity.Bitte_Kein_Lexus wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 5:50 pm Reading up a bit more it doesn't seem like they'll have a tiered system. $99 is damn pricey for internet here. Only motivation to get it would be to be off the intranet.
They have said they will cater to different markets, so it won't stay at $99 here. I'd tip it to be probably half that once the Beta concludes.

Re: Elon Musk's Starlink satellites over Cambodia
I think it's all hearsay, as I just read an article that says they plan on keeping the same price in all countries. Perhaps they will offer different speeds at different price points, would make sense. I mean even Sinet is like what, $600/year? At $99 it's $1200/year for internet. I still think it's too expensive but economies of scale will play a big part as they're sending up satellites at an exponential rate. Let's see if the can meet that 2022 estimate. I'd be interested but of course need more details once we get closer to the date.

Well at least that shows they're flexible. Sounds good.

they have the ability to charge different prices for different cell locations
but who are the audience?
people in rural areas who need fast, unlimited internet
smaller villages, regional branch offices, log-cabin remote workers, etc
there aren't many competing options at $99

Re: Elon Musk's Starlink satellites over Cambodia
Greetings everyone. Would like to please ask if there are any updates on starlink usage in Cambodia? Its been a while since there has been any updates on this thread. Is anyone using this connection in remote areas with first hand experience? I live in quite a remote location and require speeds of at least 50Mb/s. Thank you

SpaceX loses 40 satellites to geomagnetic storm a day after launch
SpaceX has lost dozens of satellites after they were hit by a geomagnetic storm a day after launch, causing them to fall from orbit and burn up.
Such solar "storms" are caused by powerful explosions on the sun's surface, which spit out plasma and magnetic fields that can hit the Earth.
The company, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, said up to 40 of 49 satellites from last week's launch were hit.
