Re: Dear China... WTF!?
The Chinese are clearly sending an allegorical message to the US about the decline of Western culture. The beginning is relatively normal by our standards. Just some attractive women dancing around in somewhat revealing costumes. As the video progresses, chickens start to appear, representing the cowardice we have (yet deny) towards tackling some of our biggest social, economic, and political issues. As the women begin clucking and using English words like "day," they begin to imitate and mock us more and imply that we live only for today and ignore the future repercussions of our actions. Then more animals begin to appear, representing our obsession with "diversity" and tendency to ignore certain standards and choose minorities for jobs, favor them in lawsuits, etc., simply for the sake of diversity. This is expounded upon by the scantily clad men in tight underwear at 2:04, a direct reference to the gay pride movement. The rooster crowing at 2:21 is a literal wakeup call, telling us to get our act together before our capitalistic system is overthrown by the growing Chinese economy. The failure of Western capitalism and consumerism is also referenced by the bright green glasses the woman is wearing at 2:29, as the color green represents money. Finally, the video wraps up at 3:22 with the gate closing and a chicken drinking a cup of Kool-Aid, essentially saying that we are doomed, and we have figuratively "drunk the Kool-Aid" and bought into the lies of Western postmodernism.
