The situation is becoming serious. The End of the World is Nigh. :o
It was all predicted before.. :geek:

That's totally weirdo. I hope you posted that as a joke.
Seriously, I am more concerned that we might run out of whisky before we explode.

Think about it from another perspective. The worst will occur after our lifetime. So do those things you want to do. Live life to the full.
Well that is a terrible perspective. The UN report recently said we could have changing weather, wildfires, food shortages, huge amounts of coral reef dying and many other things by as early as 2040.

I am not sure how old you are but I would like to believe that is in my lifetime.

Also, not too sure what trying to reduce meat intake/plastic use and switching to renewables wherever possible can be seen as not living life to the full, it’s barely a change but could make a big difference.
The things that happen as early as 2040 will not be the worst of it.

Do what you can. Reduce meat intake/plastic use and switching to renewables wherever possible. But while the big polluters of the world continue to pollute, things will continue to get worse. See if you can get any of the big polluters to stop. Go to China and close down the factories. The Chinese have the answer. Move the polluting factories to Cambodia and other countries. This will be the next thing you will see.

If things are to get better, there needs to be a total rethink of how we live. Go back to a simple village lifestyle. Look at the Amish in America and see what we can learn from them.

Things should be manufactured to last much longer, instead of breaking down. The Company which does this will see sales reduce as time goes by, and lose money.

The rich and powerful are too concerned about money in their own pocked, not the good of the planet. See if you can get them to change.

It is happening now. Look at the time lapse vids of North Pole sea ice.
Water is the engine of the atmosphere and storms will increase in severity along with warming.
Those who say it is a natural cycle are totally at odds with science- deluded and ignorant of the facts - too lazy for critical thinking.

For me there is:
(a) there is a natural cycle; severe climate change has happened before, many times.
(b) there is a man-made acceleration of the current cycle.

It is pointless to try to reverse the man-made effects, we cannot control the planet on such an extraordinary scale - particularly when the worst offenders in China & India do nearly sod all to acknowledge the problem their two giant populous nations cause, even though the poorest (generally also in their nations) will be hit hardest first.

Second, knowing that there is an inevitable catastrophe coming, humans would be better off preparing to survive that mass extinction level event when it happens (note: it has already started), than to spend time trying to reverse the damage done. If we survive this one, there surely should be population restrictions on any "New World", that the Earth can actually sustain, along with all the "green" initiatives we've now discovered or enabled, far, far too late.

Third. "We're all gonna die"

It is worth noting that Phnom Penh is only 1 meter above mean sea level, and much of the country even less.
Easily seen when you fly in during the wet season.

The last time we had atmospheric co2 levels as we have today was during the Cretaceous.

You can easily check for yourself what temperatures were then and make some good estimates of sea levels and ice coverage.

Yes, we are currently in a great extinction event which is rapidly gaining pace.

Thus there will soon be a major war between the superpowers to reduce human population. This will be seen as a necessity.

Hypothetically, someone could get a group of like minded people together, and set up a community designed to minimize harmful environmental effects. If it was done really well, it could be a model which could be reproduced.

But the aim of life is to make money. Not save the environment.

If you had lived at the time when Hitler was becoming popular, and listened to the propaganda, would you have had any idea what would be coming next? If you listen to all the propaganda we hear today, do you have any idea what is going to happen?

Something for those with analytical minds to think about.

There's been over 50 years of doomsday predictions re global warming and none have come true. That tells us that scientists are better at observations than predictions. The scientific consensus is that the global temperature has increased by 0.4% in the last 100 years.

More CO2 in the air is good for plants as it produces less leaf area in proportion to root systems. This demonstrates that a disproportionate share of the new biomass is growing underground, where it improves soil quality while sequestering CO2.

EMF (4G and 5g) is much more of a threat to people and the environment but people just don't care.

LOL Melting polar caps aren't causing the sea levels to rise. Remember when Mummy made a drink of something and put ice cubes in it? Did it spill over the cup?

Do you believe in Global warming?

We're going to need some smarts to deal with the problem
But if the above is any indication of our capacity, we can just abandon all hope

A new level of scientific non sequitur!
You could be next.
