Three Chinese Import $3,520,000 USD of Suspicious Cash to Cambodia
Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: On April 23, 2019, at Phnom Penh International Airport, Immigration police, Ministry of Interior and officials from the General Department of Customs and Excise of Ministry of Economy and Finance detained three suspects for importing US$3,520,000 from Hong Kong to Cambodia without the necessary paperwork.
The money comes from unknown sources. An investigation into money laundering is underway.

LOL, they look like stand-up guys.
On a similar train of thought, I was out at Phnom Penh airport last week and there were a couple of bags that needed two very large Chinese guys using both hands to lift one sports bag on to the airport scales. We were joking about sacks of gold lingots, but who knows.

Look again. Just like magic. Now only $3,000,000.
But wonder why this latest shipment of $ was stopped by customs ? No fees paid ? There are rumours of planeloads of suitcases full of $ in cash arriving at Sihanoukville airport.

All those high ranking uniforms must have been salivating over that pile of cash. All figuring out how they were gonna steal their slice. I bet it was more like $4 million and they nicked the rest.

Cambodia charges 3 Chinese with money laundering

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia — A Cambodian court on Sunday charged three Chinese nationals with money laundering after the men were allegedly caught carrying more than $3.5 million without proper provenance for the money.
Ly Sophana, a spokesman at Phnom Penh Municipal Court, told reporters that the three men were officially charged with money laundering under Cambodia’s Law on Anti-Money Laundering and Combatting Financing of Terrorism.
If convicted, the men could face 10 to 20 years in prison.
According to the National Police website, the three men told police that some of the money was won gambling in Macau, and some was borrowed from relatives. They said the money was brought to Cambodia to invest in real estate.

Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: On April 29, 2019, the Phnom Penh Municipal Court decided to detain the three Chinese nationals at Phnom Penh Prey Sar prison in connection with the transport of bags of cash worth US$3,520,000 from Hong Kong to Cambodia.
The three men are unable to provide any documentation for the money, and dollars have been sent to the National Bank to be kept as evidence.
