Should prostitution be a normal profession?
Re: Should prostitution be a normal profession?
Prostitution is totally legal in the uk. The illigal bit is brothels, pimps and hanging out on street corners. A woman working by herself in her own place can charge for sex. Anyone else involved ie security is deemed to be living off immoral earnings.
At least that's how i understand things are here at present.
A lie can get round the world faster than the truth can get its boots on.

In response to the OP:
i thought it was normal for lazy, uneducated SE asian, ( but not limited to ) women

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Actually yes, at least for some - I remember watching a documentary about "legal whores" in Holland who were dispatched for sexual relief to cripples and invalids, all covered by the local NHS. There was even an interview with a couple of those "nurses" (chubby bespectacled women in their 40's with curly hair, wished I could have unseen them)

You would think they would have the decency to shave, wouldn't you, or at least warn you in advance.logos wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2019 2:44 pmActually yes, at least for some - I remember watching a documentary about "legal whores" in Holland who were dispatched for sexual relief to cripples and invalids, all covered by the local NHS. Teaches me to read the next page first. Yeah, not illegal in the UK, you can fuck people for reward. Mainly because the Victorians got a bit squeamish about defining a sex act.

While I don't believe that the practice should be demonized to the extent that it is, it should never be normalized either. It is basically dehumanizing for people to sell their intimacy to anyone who can pay enough. Of course sometimes this can work out well for all involved, but often it is a more desperate scenario. I'm not completely against the practice but I feel that it isn't an ideal dynamic.

Of course it should be legalized morally. And for every gender out there... lost count in recent years.
But the problem with legalization is legalization itself. The red tape, licenses and audits that come with legalization tends not to favour a majority of prostitutes - it's usually a desperation move. A last attempt to escape economic disenfranchisement.
Not to be confused with so called sex-therapists, who usually come from balanced backgrounds and are educated.
Little will be solved with legalizing the selling of sex.
I would prefer a don't ask, don't tell policy. Couple of loopholes... just enough so the sellers are not unfairly prosecuted .
A good outcome would be :
... The ability to buy insurance.
... The ability to apply for a bank loan.
... The ability to call the cops without prejudice, if shit turns bad.
... Privacy rights.
... access to cheap, anonymous and regular medical checkups.
... a union.

Amsterdam's Red Light District, long a centre for sexual liberation, may soon face some big changes that are sparking debate about sex work elsewhere.
20 April 2019
Amsterdam’s Red Light District – with its winding alleyways filled with crimson-glowing windows where women attract passing customers – has become not only a tourist destination and cultural icon, but also a high-profile example of a place where safe, legal sex work has been practised for decades.
But that might soon end. Dutch parliament is currently preparing to debate the legality of prostitution in the Netherlands. With the industry facing opposition from both the Christian right and feminist left, sex workers in the Red Light District are under pressure to protect their right to work.
Could these debates lead to big changes in sex work around the world? And how could that affect the jobs and lives of the people in the industry?

What's your view on the ideal dynamic then. How would it work ?
My view is that prostitution has only been dehumanizing and looked down upon since they in vented the word '' prostitution ''. Remove that word from our vocabulary, and law books and you have half the problem solved.

Re: Should prostitution be a normal profession?
Then the scenario itself should be addressed, and not by cutting off a relatively easy escape route
Those who want to offer the service should be able to, those who don't, shouldn't have to
