Phnom Penh Tuktuk Drivers Beat Up Pass-App Driver in Territory Dispute

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Of course, there's still a place for the regular tuktuk over the indian Passapp ones. You still can't get your khmer family of 5-6 on a Passapp nor if your scooter has broken down and you need to load it to the repair shop.
But you can get 3 in one of those Indian remorques, so if you hired 2 of them, it might still be cheaper than the traditional tuktuk. Depends on a few things though.

I have been using Grab from the first day but took a Tuk Tuk which is just waiting there near Russian Market. We settled a price of 2 but the driver was really disappointed when I arrived at my apartment and gave him 2.25 because he wanted to charge me 3.
I felt guilty because of the angry/disappointed look so I searched on Grab to check if I was unfair to him.
Turns out it would cost me only 1.5 if I use Grab to book one. It's not about the money.

The Indian tuktuks are not remorques (technically speaking).

Passapp has an option for regular tuktuks too. Ones with meters.

And those are slightly more expensive than the Indians.
