Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Two Drunk Brits Arrested & Released After They Sign Grovelling Apology Letters to Cambodia

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Phnom Penh, News: Two drunk British men, JAMES DONAGHUE and JOSH LITTLE, were detained for disturbance of the peace after they got shamefully drunk and passed out in public in Phnom Penh.
The police were called in after the two foreigners had drunk themselves (literally) under the table. They were sent to the Department of Immigration where they were made to write and sign letters of apology to the entire Kingdom of Cambodia, promising to be on their best behavior and never again to be so shamelessly off their faces in a public place. In return, it seems that the two British men were released back into the zoo by the authorities.

This looks strange. They got off their faces in some kind of office? Noodles and water on the desk.

I'm calling bullshit. They absolutely must have been set up by the evil locals. I am positive that they are top blokes. Barely literate, wife beater wearing, top blokes.

Looks to me like they passed out in the police station and it was the coppers that gave them water and noodles.

So what was this 'public place' and were they served up drinks or did they bring their own? :chin:

I like how the surnames are blacked out but both signatures at the bottom are plain as day.

One of them is a roofer, I wonder if he's mates with Jamie.

They are probably in a bar laughing about it now.

Wouldn't it be funny if someone sent this topic link to The Sun Newspaper and they did an article about them...
