Great thing about today is having an MRI scan. Nothing like that existed in my sporting days and it was good old fashioned X rays and lead aprons for the technician.Jamie_Lambo wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2019 8:33 pm not due to old age, but past few years started suffering with CTE from the long term effects of boxing/kickboxing, coming up to 26 years in the sport now, taken its toll
One of my ex army friends suffers from it and he has had to change his life style to try and slow this down.
At least you seem to accept it and that is good. Denial is the worst in all of our issues.
Good luck and no regrets.

Surely being told that you’re like a big snake is a warning about one’s personality, no?

personally, i think anybody that gets in a ring and willingly lets someone else beat on them has something wrong with them to start with.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the aim not to get hit but to hit the other guy instead?phuketrichard wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2019 9:41 pm personally, i think anybody that gets in a ring and willingly lets someone else beat on them has something wrong with them to start with.

I always thought the aim was to duck and dive and avoid getting hit, and then when you spot an opening whack the other guy? That was my take on boxing anyway.TOG wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2019 9:45 pmCorrect me if I am wrong, but isn't the aim not to get hit but to hit the other guy instead?phuketrichard wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2019 9:41 pm personally, i think anybody that gets in a ring and willingly lets someone else beat on them has something wrong with them to start with.

I hated boxing and relied on speed to keep out of the way of the other guy.John Bingham wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 2:38 am
