House Attacked by Lexus in Phnom Penh

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: Warning, you may be victim of an out-of-control Lexus attack, even in your own home. It appears that Lexus vehicles in Phnom Penh have decided they now prefer to drive into houses, rather than road dividers, and yet another incident has been reported of a Lexus driving into people's living space while they are relaxing inside their house.

On April 02, 2019, at 07:20 pm, a Lexus RX330, plate no. Phnom Penh 2AR-2667, was driven into some people's house on street 598, Sangkat Toul Sangke2, Khan Rousey Keo, Phnom Penh. The unexpected drive-in visitor caused a lot of material damage, but fortunately, no one was injured.

The RGC should change the law...

A cambodian citizen may purchase a car if and only if he/ she has:
- a bank account,
- Aetna's platinum health coverage for a family of 18,
- Geico's premium car coverage,
- $30 million life insurance,
- a 5.0 GPA from an ivy league school,
- two unicorns,
- a 15inch cock (male) or 6 titties (female)

Well that is probably the wrong way to go about it. a poor khmer is more likely tolook after his expensive car. its the rich bastards who can afford to pay $3000 in compensation for killing someone who dont give a toss!
What they should do is toss out their highway code and joing the international convention for left hand drive ( although i do not think its a coincidnece that countries that drive on the correct side of the road like the uk have far fewer accidents per mile than the countries that drive on the wrong side of the road like france and Cambodia) :stir:
75% chance it was a chinese driver. They should never be allowed to drive anywhere!

Similarly to a lot of people, you fail to acknowledge that the middle class in Cambodia is steadily growing in size. My "joke" was targeting the Cambodian population as whole, but specifically the group of people stuck between the rice farmers and the foreign aid hogs. They can't really spare $3k, but they also don't care enough about their cars/ lives (as long as it looks shiny from the outside and makes others believe that they "made it", it's all gravy) to drive properly.

Is there really a correlation between which side of the road people drive on and an increase/ decrease in accidents per mile? Barbados drives on the "right" side of the road. Taxi drivers in Barbados are maniacs. Obnoxiously loud soca/ reggae/ dancehall music playing. One hand on the steering wheel, the other on a cellphone. Driver might casually say "See di batty. Di batty fat mah youth. Look. Mi love dem pussy fat" while checking out some tail and doing 60mph in a residential area.

No, let the Chinese drive. It's always entertaining to watch a brandnew lambo go up in flames.
