I personally think gender is not any kind of qualifier for the job and that the job should go to the most qualified and people shouldn't vote based on your bits and bites.

Hitler came along at the right time and preached hope to a broken people who were forced to sign an impossible deal under duress with no other options. The rest of the world created a climate for someone to rise to power like he did. If not him, someone else would have taken the helm and led a people who truly had nothing to lose. The climate was ripe for an abuse of power. I am unsure if Hitler had nefarious intentions in the beginning (I am not an expert on him) but I do know that given the chance, the hearts of men are dark and absolute power absolutely corrupts.

Besides the fact that he needed to steal the wealth and assets of the Jews to finance his war efforts, it wasn't a rare sentiment. In my naivete as a youth, I said something of the sort to my father, who first saw Canadian's when they marched into his native Netherlands homeland to liberate them from the Germans. I just can re-affirm that its amazing how easy it is to make a man kill or be killed, and to turn their hearts and tear out their souls to move forward in evil endeavors. My Mothers Father was a Nazi. He voted for Hitler I suppose. So did the majority of voters, so its not rare. I have his war photo albums that would blow your mind. He came home a shell of a man after what he had seen and done. My mother couldn't bear to confront the truth of it all and lived in shame for years, even though when they bombed her city, she was an innocent 9yo girl. She asked her father years later how he could have done the things he did to their family, like abandoning her mother and remarrying twice, amongst other things that are a story for another day. He said that what he had seen and done made him less human.

Everyone has some redeeming qualities I guess. Some gaining them later in life, and others having held them earlier. Some people are both good and bad at the same time. I personally like Trump, as you know. I think he was the best choice for much needed change. I know he is not perfect, but I also do not see him as evil. Maybe I am wrong. Would that make you happy?
