There are some big places and small places. Some are far away and some are near. Some are expensive and some are cheap.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

There are many different hotels and guest houses in many different situations. They are not all dumps in far flung places. Some have very nice rooms and are in good locations.

Guys, don't make fun of explorer. Your posts will be deleted.
His advice is always dead on in my experience. He's quite knowledgeable about all things Cambodia. You should pay attention to his wisdom instead of childishly trying to point out the holes in his ideas and opinions.

Wonder if you get better and cheaper food if you speak Khmer?
If you are Khmer you get treated differently if you speak English. I've experienced it first hand with my work collegues. We rock up to a client site the parking officer speaks Khmer to collegue and says you cant park here. I'm Asian and don't speak Khmer say to him we are here to see a client and lets us both park. Same thing with my CEO who is French he just rocks up park his bike parking dude doesn't say one word.

I know there are others that think the same way, but dont voice it for fear of being bullied.

Those which cater for foreigners are often more expensive than those which cater for Cambodians. Many of those which cater for Cambodians dont have staff which speak English. If you learn Khmer, you may save on accommodation.

Re: If you learn Khmer, you may save on accommodation
So may save on your accommodation doesn't equate to a discount??
Re: If you learn Khmer, you may save on accommodation
In some situations you can, because you have more choices. You are not limited to places where people speak English. The Last Word wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 1:26 pm Wonder if you get better and cheaper food if you speak Khmer?
