Water vapor is the most abundant and important greenhouse gas. We cannot change how that affects climate change. However, it's still a good idea to reduce the amount of other gases that we put into the air. Just think of all the guard/attack cats we can save from being knocked unconscious!

I forgive the naysayers. They fit into history with other beliefs like: believing the Earth is the center of the universe, babies do not feel pain, washing your hands will not prevent disease, the mother will reject the baby bird after you put it back into its nest, etc...
Still here, in country...
Re: "When Children Protest, Adults Should Tell them the Truth." Greta Thunberg - Climate Change Child Activist.
I believe that climate change very well could be real. However I don’t believe that the promoters of the Climate change religion actually have the solution to the problem nor do I believe they will be able to fix the problem. Could there be some improvements to the current status quo regarding the use of fossil fuels, pollution, etc....ya sure. And should countries and industries be slowly moving in the direction of trying to develop and use renewable energy sources...yes.Ravensnest wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2019 7:45 am I forgive the naysayers. It reminds me of the Academics who believed in Peak oil in who predicted the worlds petrol supply would be depleted in the 1990’s.
So when Greta Thunberg groupies or the other apostles of the Climate change religion tell me to “Listen to the scientists” I always ask “What books from what scientists have you read and what books should I read?” Invariably, the average Joe who tells me to “listen to the scientists” has never read a single book authored by the scientists. If they had actually read some of the literature available, we could actually have a debate. I’ve read lots of books from “climate scientists” like the ones Greta tells us we should all be listening to.
A number of them would like to setup the grandest world dictatorship ever known to man, regards humans as noxious insects, and are as fanatical as the Khmer Rouge.
So please tell me, what scientists should we all be listening to?
I spent a few weeks traveling around with a professor from Bristol University. This PHD who sits on the Board of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change told me that “Mao made a few mistakes, but overall Mao is of the greatest hero’s of modern history.” He was in awe of Ho Chi Minh and the liberation of the Vietnamese people. He believes all Right Wing people and governments to be downright evil.
On our arrival day in Phnom Penh he asked what S-21 was and the significance of visiting it. He was so proud of having spent 4 years in Uni protesting the Vietnam war. He had never heard of Pol Pot. I explained simplistically that the Khmer Rouge were Maoists who hated Capitalism, wanted equality for all, emptied people from the cities, and were establishing a socialist society. He replied, “They should do that again.” I asked why he thinks it should be done again. He replied that he was absolutely DISGUSTED by the inequality and corruption on display in Phnom Penh.

So let’s read a few excerpts from the geniuses who would like to lead the New Society. We are the enemy of Gaia!!
Tim Flannery, Chief Commissioner of the Australian Climate Commission:
“Does it really matter whether Gaia exists or not? I think it does, for it influences the very way we see our place in nature. Someone who believes in Gaia sees everything on earth as being intimately connected to everything else just like organs in the body.”
“Inevitably, one day some commissioner will suggest that their work would be more effectively done were they to concentrate on the root cause of the issue - the total number of people on the planet. And with such a move the Earth Commission for Thermostatic Control will have transformed itself into an Orwellian-style world government with its own currency, army, and court over every person and every inch of our planet. As horrific as such an outcome is, if we delay action to combat climate crisis, the carbon dictatorship may become essential for our survival.” The Weather Makers by Tim Flannery
“Instead the judiciary will be faced with apportioning guilt and responsibility for human actions resulting from the new climate”
“Imagine for a moment you are a camel herder living in the Sudan. For decades the world has blamed you for your plight on your own mismanagement of natural resources, and now you have been accused of genocide by the most powerful government on the planet. But then you discover proof positive - as far as science can provide it - that the rain no longer falls because the richest and most powerful nations have been polluting our great aerial oceans, and in doing have ground Sahel’s people to dust under the heel of famine, poverty, and conflict, what is the principle of this injustice?
“It should not be too difficult to apportion blame for climate disasters in a court of law, for it is possible to estimate how many extra fig atoms of C02 there are in the atmosphere, for example, as a result of the Climate Coalitions activities. And from that it is possible to calculate how much they have contributed to warming the planet. That warmth translates into a climatic impact to which a dollar figure can be attached.”

That's a bizarre but totally believable anecdote. There are many internet "Communist" groups who have probably read a little about the history of Cambodia but completely disregard any bad reports about Pol Pot. It's all western media disinformation they say, and many subscribe to the preposterous view that the Khmer Rouge were a CIA creation. However, it doesn't make sense to lump these people in with others who have much more regular views. Just as it isn't fair to lump in every conservative in the US with the QAnon believing extreme militants and Christian bible bashers. There's a middle ground that doesn't subscribe to extremist views. Unfortunately people are being forced to take sides, and both sides have been hijacked by morons.Johno35 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 28, 2020 7:41 pm I spent a few weeks traveling around with a professor from Bristol University. Silence, exile, and cunning.

Paul Gilding, former director of Greenpeace.
I’ve been waiting for a ‘full-on climate crisis’ for 30 years. Now that it is getting due recognition, I am both scared and excited.”
“So, I welcome a declaration of climate emergency as an impetus for change, along with social movements such as The Climate Mobilization and Extinction Rebellion (both of which I have advised), and Swedish teenage activist Greta Thunberg’s school strikes. I can’t welcome the destructive burning of the Amazon, the melting of the ice caps or the devastating impacts already affecting many people around the globe. But I see their role in motivating greater action.”
“I remember as a teenage activist in the 1970’s reading about the works of Karl Marx, I came across the quote “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.” It struck me then as an eminently sensible, simple idea, and I couldn’t possibly u seedy and how any other approach could possibly be a better way to organize our society.” The Great Disruption: How the Climate Crisis will change EVERYTHING
“If the earth is full, someone can only have more only if someone else has less.” The Great Disruption: How the Climate Crisis will change EVERYTHING
“The great disruption will ultimately take human society to a higher evolutionary state, where we will address centuries old challenges left over from our lower-order animal state- like poverty, consumerism, and conflict. We have the opportunity to build a society that represents our highest capacities, with extreme poverty eliminated; a closed loop economy with no waste, communities that work and support one another, happiness, satisfaction, and service as the central organizing principles of our economy and society, rather than our current approach of “money = happier peopl.” The Great Disruption: How the Climate Crisis will change EVERYTHING
“This crisis presents what may be a “once in a civilization” opportunity for a step change in human evolution, but one driven consciously rather than biologically.” The Great Disruption: How the Climate Crisis will change EVERYTHING
“To really have a substantial impact on the forecast environmental impact, we would need to dramatically reduce the global population by a significant percentage from what it is now.”

Please let me know a few reputable major Climate change activists or scientists you recommend who do not subscribe to extremist views?

All the climate change scientists are reputable. None are extremist. All the media says so. Therefore must be true. Media schools (and most universities and colleges) worship Mao and Che. So all the graduates (aka the leaders of society) have the same groupthink. Aka political correctness.
To think all this was because of the efforts of the Soviet Union. Comintern’s goal was to turn the universities communist and watch the eventual downfall of the free world from within.
Lenin would be proud.
Can I have my tinfoil hat back, now?

Ted Grudin, who earned his Ph.D. in environmental science from the University of California-Berkeley:
“How White Supremacy Caused the Climate Crisis.”
https://www.earthisland.org/journal/ind ... te-crisis/
“This outdated notion of wilderness paved the way for capitalism to claim much of the “non-wild” places as sacrifice zones for industry and profit.”
“The environmental movement itself possesses a legacy of White supremacy, which has damaged its credibility to this day.”
“ The climate crisis was and is fueled by a racial supremacy that has long devalued everything and everyone but the “chosen ones.” The hierarchical worldview of White supremacy means that moral value is measured by the profits and powers of that select group, to the detriment of everyone, and everything, else. Colonized peoples and lands are perceived only as tools for the accumulation of wealth and power. Oppression and destruction based on racialized, gendered, and other socially constructed categories are rooted in the idea that dominance and control are the “natural” rights of White people, particularly men.”
“ While racism and the climate crisis will never be simple problems to solve, they are part of the same chain-linked fence that incarcerates and derails justice and sustainability. To fight injustice, we must, among other things, fight the climate crisis. And to fight the climate crisis, we must dismantle White supremacy and its destructive arrogance towards humanity and nature.”
