Short Break in Taiwan
Re: Short Break in Taiwan
Breakfast was not bad, had chunky red snapper porridge for main course but started with some fruits and a fritter
So my trip will be starting from the south of Taiwan in the city of Kaohsiung then will move to Taipei Friday evening. So, when I arrive at Taoyuan Airport (near to Taipei) I have to take their High Speed Rail (HSR) to the Kaohsiung in the south. But before that I need to get to the Taoyuan HSR Station, by bus
Follow the sign to go to the bus station at B1 level, just outside the glass door go to number 12 kiosk for bus number 705 and pay just $30 (US$0.95)
Inside the bus
Train ticket $1,980 (US$64.30) (non-reserve seat cost $1290, standard reserve seat costs $1330) from Taoyuan station to Zuoying Station (this is the name of the HSR station for Kaohsiung)
Here comes the train

Birdy got the boot a long time ago and I married missus.PSD-Kiwi wrote:You and Birdy seem to spend a lot of time sick in hospitals!
Missus lives so far away, I think she stores up all the sick days so then she gets really sick when I visit.

Yong that pic of the train inside the carriage, it looks exactly like the high speed trains connecting Shenzhen to Guangzhou. Leaving every 15-20 minutes or so

If you have passport from a western country, none. Visa-except status.logos wrote:What kind of visa do you need to visit Taiwan ?
Others, please contact the local taiwan consulate.
Yong, ‘ain’t no last minute flights out of the country with adjoining seats except in business/first class. Missus insists on adjoining seats and so it is. And no flights back home except business/first class. Had to drain the bank account to get back to work on time.
Finally, I’ll get to live like a Thai screw salesman. For a day.
Re: Short Break in Taiwan
This is Taiwan's high speed train (Japanese technology) that ply north-south of Taiwan. I believe @newkidontheblock had replied you however for me carrying a Singapore passport do not require any visa.

(1) you made her happy to sit beside each other, so "you're the man"
(2) its a long flight back so you will be well rested in biz class, worth it

Re: Short Break in Taiwan
Yong, thanks for the advice.
Missus now cutely babbles about how useless she’s been whenever she wakes up from sleeping. Must be on the recovery phase.
And that breakfast buffet video! The breakfast at this hotel fills me up until a late lunch. Can you even have dinner after a monster breakfast like that?
