It’s getting bad in the commune...

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

It’s getting bad in the commune...

Post by newkidontheblock »

The commune is now experiencing an influx of mainland Chinese, including high quality visitors.

Just yesterday, a mainland Chinese calls up a car taxi. Car jacks him (aka shoots him dead), drives away at high speed after the cruel deed, but then slams into a farmer driving one of those long engine tuk tuk carriers. Happened near the commune’s market.

Driver dead, farmer dead. Villagers surround and beat the criminal but not to death before the police arrive.

The influx of of the social credit system rejects has even arrived at the hinterlands.

Be careful out there.

Is GTA related to DOOM?

On a more serious note, older sister in law called last night to tell missus to have check her Facebook feed.

Really bad stuff like this doesn’t happen there.

Neighbors playing loud music, roosters crowing at 2 am in the morning is normal.

Thug with a gun killing a local driver, fleeing at speed and crashing into a local farmer, not.

Hope this in a not a portent of the new masters arrival.

GTA is not related to DOOM lol

Thug with a gun killing a local driver, fleeing at speed and crashing into a local farmer? Change farmer to pedestrian and you've got a regular day in Cambodia Town, CA.

In the end, it is what it is. You either gonna have to adapt or change location. You can always purchase a few rifles and go postal in a Chinese establishment. Going berserk seems to be the trend lately...

Not all Chinese folks are bad. This event you're speaking of is not representative of the entire Chinese population in Cambodia. If I were to follow your logic, I would've concluded that every single Cambodian individual is a crook/ thief/ lying sack of shit.

Before the Chinese arrived in Cambodia en masse, the usual scapegoat used to be western Africans. See

May I suggest the OP be edited to clarify the perps were NOT Chinese, but rather Japanese?

And the driver wasn't shot, he was stabbed.
