Two Drunks Hit for Compensation After Hitting Okhna's Rolls Royce

As long as we save the same treatment to their western counterparts.Ravensnest wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 10:11 pm The media calling this puff tart a Tycoon and Oknha (okay, daddy paid for that title) really piss me off. Everyone knows he's a cream puff floating in daddy's pocket. all the bad stuff happening to him, yes Karma is a bitch.
What the nanny did is terrible though, if that's true. no kid deserves to be abused.
That said, if all is as reported, it's still a 'good' story to be run in Khmer media as
A) No one got hurt
B) running red lights gets consequences (even if just in the media)
Just the car crashes though. No child deserves to be hurt.

Yeah, how exactly can you become a "property tycoon" at like 25? He saved all his hard-earned money from mowing laws, bought a plot of land for $2000, made $8000, reinvested it super wisely and became a millionaire five years later? A true rags to riches story... No, he's a daddy's boy who's a bit of a piece of work.Ravensnest wrote:The media calling this puff tart a Tycoon and Oknha (okay, daddy paid for that title) really piss me off. Camry owner should pay for some damages though.

He's more like 32 years old. His father is a property developer too, and also a brigadier general in the immigration department.
That Okhna Thong Sarath was only 36 or so when he was involved in killing that other Okhna.

So presumably daddy is an Oknya as well?John Bingham wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 11:42 am His father is a property developer too, and also a brigadier general in the immigration department.
I thought Oknya's had to either relinquish their titles or their military rank...........So I wonder what daddy gave up, the title or rank?

I don't know, the news articles I read that in was from before that law. He wasn't called an Okhna in any. Amazing how much money you can make working in the Immigration department.Brody wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 12:07 pmSo presumably daddy is an Oknya as well?John Bingham wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 11:42 am His father is a property developer too, and also a brigadier general in the immigration department.

I know, but he was already being called a tycoon years ago, thus me mentioning a younger age.John Bingham wrote:He's more like 32 years old. His father is a property developer too, and also a brigadier general in the immigration department.

It's always interesting to read the threads on CEO and more so when you do a further look into a reference in a discussion.
In this case it was John Bingham (and tell me if I have gone off on the wrong line here JB) who wrote that the father was involved in the killing (murder) of the other okhna a few years ago. For this he and his bodyguards received life sentences in a Cambodian court of law but were released on parole after 5 years (Cambodia News English 07NOV19). It was also a thread back in Dec 2014 on CEO.
Quote from the article -
The court imposed four conditions:
1) The accused shall not leave the Kingdom without the court’s permission;
2: Don’t change your residence.
3: Must appear at the Phnom Penh Municipal Police Office the first week of every month.
4: Appear at the summons of a court or competent authority assigned by the court.
end quote
Now this okhna had already done a runner and was arrested in Vietnam after 5 months and deported back to face trial. Now they, the okhna and bodyguards, have all been released on bail (one bodyguard died of aids in hospital) while a new trial is set. Interesting to note that his parents were also arrested on firearms charges after a police search of the home.
Seems like the son may be taking after his father in some respects.

The Thong Sarath case has no relation to this tubby kid with the roller.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
