Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway - Now Open

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Permanent residency after 5 years or so (maybe even citizenship);
Property ownership, including land, in your own name, not some corrupt scheme involving locals;
National roads that aren't suicidally dangerous;
Pavements to walk on;
Open public spaces with grass and tress (I know, an outrageous demand)
Railway systems where trains don't fall over at 10mph or take 8 hours to travel 200km
Streets that are cleaned;
Elections that aren't won 125-0;
Uncorruptible legal system and the rule of law;
A fucking decent climate;
Local food that is hygienic, healthy and palatable;
Fresh meat, fruit and vegetables available from multiple sources;

All the above are available in many countries.
Most are available in most countries.
None are available here.

I'm not prepared to settle for less than the basics and that's why I am looking to move on, before I get trapped too.

If I am too negative for you, block me.
It may be time to come to Italy. It falls into the category of "MOST". Unfortunately winter will start soon.

I was looking at somewhere else in late 2019. I got my boots on in February 2020, but covid scuppered my plans mid trip. Two years of travel restrictions blocked further exploring and this year I had to go back to London for business and family reasons.

Suddenly it's October 2022 and I've been here 5 years, almost to the day.

Maybe 3 months in Spain from Mar-May 2023 (max 90 days in any 180 day period, thanks to Brexit) and then hop a flight to Mex City and work my way south.
yeah in fairness, i remember you planning central America like end of 2020

Kompong Speu Province: Citizens reported that a Range Rover went up in smoke due to an electrical fire on the expressway in Kampong Speu Province, at about 2 pm on November 6, 2020.
In this case, there is no victim reported, and the identity of the car owner has not been determined yet.

The Skytrain in Bangkok took nearly 20 years from concept to first ride.

So choking it is I guess.

Is this the norm or just the holiday getaway?

It looks very orderly, why is some prick driving in the gap and pushing in?
