Not only is Joseph James Harper showing responsibility in having insurance, he got the premium package and was airlifted to Essex. Bravo to Joseph.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I read this as if he was transferred within Cambodia and the court simply made the ruling in england?
RIP, condolences to his family and friends.

That's how I read it he was admitted to hospital with TBI and transferred to IC where he died.I suspect the body was then sent home.
There is little chanch a person with severe TBI would survive a trip to PP let alone a trip half way across the world
Re: British JOSEPH JAMES HARPER Dies in Motorbike Crash in Kampot, Cambodia
The type of accident described suggests that the rider was unlikely to be wearing a helmet. The best insurance you can have while riding a motorcycle here is to wear a helmet, it ensures that you have a good chance of surviving the crash with minimal head injury. It is a serious head injury that makes your chance of survival very slim indeed. Wearing a helmet more or less ensures that you will survive to utilize any health insurance you have for medical care.
Helmets are shown to reduce motorcyclist head injury and death
Motorcyclists are at high risk in traffic crashes, particularly for head injury. A review of studies concluded that helmets reduce the risk of head injury by around 69% and death by around 42%. There is, so far, insufficient evidence to compare the effectiveness of different types of helmet. Some studies have suggested that helmets may protect against facial injury and that they have no effect on neck injury, but more research is required for a conclusive answer. The review supports the view that helmet use should be actively encouraged worldwide for rider safety.https://www.cochranelibrary.com/cdsr/do ... .pub3/full

I ca
As a close friend I can tell you he was wearing a helmet and a few of us don't like the fact you said he was unlikely wearing a helmet without knowing him. It shows you think he is some careless person when he really isn't. Thank youKuroneko wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2019 2:09 pmThe type of accident described suggests that the rider was unlikely to be wearing a helmet. Sorry for your loss, but with the best will in the world a helmet in cambodia is mostly useless at 20kmh or more. They are not tested or certified or tested and ar often made of plastic with pathetic straps and buckles thta rust and fail, so despite the above rant about wearing a helmet it would probably have made little difference above walking pace.alexb96 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2019 1:51 am I caAs a close friend I can tell you he was wearing a helmet and a few of us don't like the fact you said he was unlikely wearing a helmet without knowing him. And you have no idea what kind of helmet he was wearing, again making assumptions of the sort above, that he probably wasn't even wearing one. How about less speculation and more compassion?
