Cambodian Okhna Assists Destitute American Yachtsman
Sihanoukville, Cambodia News: On February 22, 2019, Sihanoukville Okhna Tea Vichet, heard that a 72-year-old American, who was living on a yacht near Snake Island with his wife, was suffering from an illness but did not have the money to go to hospital for treatment. The Okhna then ordered his staff to go and pick up the victim by boat and take him to the provincial hospital, where he paid for the American's medical expenses.
The American was subsequently moved to Calmette Hospital in Phnom Penh. The man's wife has expressed her gratitude for the kind and generous gesture of Mr. Tea Vichet, who helped her sick husband.

Wow! Finally a good Samaritan story about Khmers helping barang. This needs to be encouraged for everyone's benefit.

That's the eternal translation problem of calling all foreigners "barang", ie. French.
Good luck to him whatever his nationality.

Its still good to see friends helping out in a time of need no matter how big or small they are . Not a bad friend to have either.

Very kind of him. I thanked him on his facebook group/business page.
But had to laugh a little about the dramatic video that was made of the event located on said page. But damn that mans stomach sure was distended!
Still here, in country...

That's a very nice yacht. Hardly destitute then?

Re: Cambodian Okhna Assists Destitute French Yachtsman
amen to that.
insult to all locals living on a boat.
if one is that destitute, sell your "yacht", loose your ego.
always thought having a yacht (not a boat) is the most expensive way to travel for free.
wishing him a good recovery.
