Chinese Business Woman Victim of Phnom Penh Airport Bag Snatch

A reminder that if you are traveling with valuable possessions to or from Phnom Penh Airport at night you should take a taxi.

Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: A 45-year-old Chinese business woman was robbed of her handbag while she was a passenger in a PassApp tuk-tuk in front of Phnom Penh International Airport.
DAI SIBO, a 45-year-old Chinese resident manager of Cambodia China, living in Stung Meanchey district,Phnom Penh, said that she shouted for help while the robbery was in progress , but nobody came to assist. Presumably she was shouting in Chinese which was not understood by local people.

Two suspects rode up on a Honda 125 and cut the straps on her bag containing US $ 965, 8 ATM, a passport and a number of personal documents, and then they rode off with the bag.

The victim later filed a compliant at the police station.

Driving from Phnom Penh center to the airport, there is a stretch of road where bag snatching from tuktuks and motorbikes is becoming commonplace, and this is a warning to be extremely careful if you are going to the airport, especially at night.
