Fire Over Kitchenware Shop, Phnom Penh
Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: A fire occurred at 10 pm on the night of February 8, 2019 at House 314E2, Street 182, Sangkat Teuk Laak III, Khan Toul Kork, Phnom Penh, causing fire damage worth around US$4-5,000.
Police say the owner, Tang Huy Mom, a 48-year-old man, sells kitchenware. At about 10:10 pm that evening, workers who were sleeping at the back of the shop saw a fire on the second floor and reported to the police that there was a fire in the house. Before the authorities arrived, the workers shouted out to the neighbors, who came to help them contain the fire.
Then the police arrived with firetrucks, but it took over two hours to extinguish the blaze. The fire is believed to have been started by faulty electrical wiring on the premises.
