More Mine Victims; 1 Dead and 1 Injured in Poipet
Poipet, Cambodia News: Two workers hit a mine while driving their farm vehicle on January 25, 2019, in Srolao village, Malai district, Banteay Meanchey. A 32-year-old man, Cham Chong, died instantly in the explosion and his co-worker, 23-year-old Tam Sok, was seriously injured.
The two men had taken a farming truck to cut wood in the forest to make charcoal. On the way home, they took a different route than usual and unfortunately their vehicle hit a mine that was hidden in the ground.
After the incident, the police went to the scene to help the victim and sent him to the Japanese Cambodia friendship hospital immediately. The body of the deceased was given to his family for funeral rites.
