Colored Khmer Consonants
Colored Khmer Consonants
Here is a chart with the Khmer Consonants. I hope this helps new people learn the Khmer alphabet.
Many similar charts have all black letters. I posted this one because it has blue and red letters. When certain vowels follow one of the blue letters they have a certain sound. When the same vowel follows a red letter it has a different sound. Having blue and red letters should make it easier to learn.
When learning the writing, I suggest you ask a Cambodian to help.

I think I will stick to the well tried and trusted method of communicating with foreigners.
Speak English slowly and very loudly.

Every Khmer kid has one, stenciled on a play table, at school or on the wall at home.explorer wrote:Looks better like this.
Never seen one without the kosak and the ahkohsak.
Would make learning real hard.

I have this hanging on my wall for the kiddos. It’s great for them to practice. They can write on it with a whiteboard marker and clean it off to use it over and over again.Barang chgout wrote:,
