So much pollution in Kep and Kampot

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. So much pollution in Kep and Kampot

Post by into-the-wind »

It's been hazy for days now. It says here it's 150 PM2.5 | 56.1 µg/m³. Can this be correct?

doesnt look right, it says its nearly 200 in Kampong Cham and only 150 in Bangkok, when Bangkok and surrounding provinces have been pushing really high numbers lately (check out Yongs Thailand thread)

Not correct. Phnom Penh 83 and Kep dangerous at 151? True there hasn't been much wind the last days here in Kep, but don't believe the air quality in Kep is worse than in PP. At all.

Don't worry. Once the Chinese have fully moved in all those hi-rise condos and huge casinos will clear the air.

PS: I was expecting this thread to be about the great unwashed horde of dread locked hipster trash that seems to have washed up there over the last few years.

That's SHV. There will never be casino's in Kep as long as this governor stays in place.
PS: unwashed dread locked hippie backpacking hipsters liking a deconstructed soy latte for $5 makes a good customer, not trash.

It's a real dustbowl there and air quality is definitely much worst than Phnom Penh. The roads are totally shredded basically everywhere, and the amount of dust is insane. The central part of town is so-so, but go 100m in any other direction out of town and it's really bad. Amazing that the authorities have let things get this bad in the first place. Go CPP!

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.
