Fat, shirtless, barefoot, punched in the eye and shamed by Panda Mart

This is a part of our Cambodia forums to chat about anything Cambodia-related. This discussion forum is at the top of our site because it's usually the busiest part of the expat community chatter with random topics on just about everything, including expat life, Khmer politics, Cambodian blogs we have or have come across, or whatever else our members want to discuss. Whether you're an expatriate, tourist, Cambodian or random traveler just passing through South East Asia, you are welcome to talk about anything or start new topics yourselves.

The Panda Mart photo could be six months old. Does your GF work for a Turkish guy? Is she does, maybe he had tuk tuk drivers bear him up, and thus maybe only one black eye.

Nope. Def no connection there. She works for khmer.

The story goes that when he went to pay the bill, he said he didnt have enough and then said he would go to the atm. Coz he looked dirty with sores on his head and legs, the staff got suspicious and one of them accompanied him to the nearest atm around the corner. When the card was declined he ran and the staff yelled out and the nearby tuk tuk guys who apparently recognised and already knew him, made pursuit and punched him.

Perhaps he piques your interest because he's shirtless and barefoot?

Sure, Pandamarts and Minimarts just randomly force foreigners to pose and accuse them as thieves... oh boy, you can make a juicy tv-series about the "trash foreigners"

It's certainly possible for a guy to be falsely accused or for there to be mistaken identity. Lots of bald, fat, shirtless white guys in that area.

Maybe he was punched for wearing the "no tuk tuk today" tee shirt and then the tuk tuks ripped it off him :0

Nope. He wasn't punched at all. That's an ailment called Bell's Palsy!

I think it is wrong to post photos of people you know nothing about and insinuate bad things.

I think this should not be allowed by the forum moderators.
I think threads like this are great.

It's really entertaining and a little different for a change.

Most threads are about news editorials, this is about what's going on on the street.

I am surprised that the mean streets of PP interest you if you live in Saigon. Apparently vigilante justice is commonplace in Saigon

Last year, the former Saigon ranked as the third least-safe city worldwide, after Caracas and Karachi, on the Safe Cities Index of The Economist Intelligence Unit, which rates personal security in 60 cities.
