Ye the batteries in the down tube. 500w/hrs. Way to high to take on a plane. I don't see the battery on the bike if it is built in then it would be a specialized battery just for that model which limits the availability even more. Also the built in type are limited to only the stock configuration which limits your ability to go faster or farther than stock.
I tried to import a bike from china, Ali Express, first it was no problem but then the only way they could even get it into the country was in pieces and several separate shipments and they would not be able to send the battery.
I finally found a shipping company who were also in the ebike side business and I ordered a kit it arrived in 2 days the battery had to go by special shipment to Viet Nam then brought in (under the radar) by a carrier on a bus. That took 2 weeks. Then I bought a new bike locally and built my own.
As it stands the bike wont leave England. Im purely a tourist. I might bring an old mtb with me next time and leave it eather in Thailand or Cambodia. Probably Thailand as i travel there more and i know more people there.
I only ever take carry on luggage so my 30kg hold limit is a bit wasted.

You should be able to buy one for a similar price as bringing one on the plane, unless you bring an expensive one.

bringing a bike, surfboard, ski's on planes is very inexpensive or even free if within ur free checked baggage allowance.
buying a cheap bike is worse than no bike at all

That’s defo made in the USA.
I saw a video (I think in Australia) some road race and his bike fucked up and he threw it in a tantrum. One of the spectators pulled his own bike out his car and gave it to him.
The rider won the race, after his team adjusted the saddle.
It cost $10000. That’s commitment.

I ride every day, any time of day that suits me. I rarely sweat much because I'm not trying to win any race, I'm just getting around doing what I need to do. Its good low stress exercise. I keep to back roads as much as possible which means plenty of dirt roads but thats fine if I'm getting peace and quiet. My saddlebags are always on the bike for picking up any shopping or dropping off laundry etc. I think its safer than cycling in Australia simply because traffic speeds are so much slower. Yes the drivers are crazy but Australian drivers have a bad attitude about the safety of cyclists so no worse than here.
The bottom line is safety is used as an excuse for people who are too lazy to try. Same the world over.
