National Road #3 - Current Status
National Road #3 - Current Status
I am planning to travel to Kampot from PP this weekend. Was told by what is usually the source of all my KOW information (tuk tuk driver) that there are currently "issues" with Road #3. Not sure what he considers issues, whether is it construction or poor conditions? Both are usually there but not enough to avoid Road #3.
Anyone driven that way lately with an update to confirm or refute this information? Thank you.

Assuming that I’m not getting the roads mixed up, I last drove over towards Kampot a few months ago, and the issues were that the road deteriorated as you approached the town, rough and pot holed in places. Not that it was unusable, simply that it slowed progress dramatically.
A more recent report from a friend who rides the route to work fairly frequently is that it was a pain in the arse, both literally and metaphorically.

The last 30-40km north of Kampot pretty much washed away during the flooding earlier this year. It's pretty much a potholed dirt road now.
