#MeToo

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

#MeToo

Post by TheWarrior »

I think there is new Feminist movement starting now is called #MeToo. I dont understand the new law that much. But as much as I understand is this:
If you talk to a female in a private settings, she can press charges for sexual molestation based on the topic you have been talking. She doesnt have to prove anything. Her testimony is enough. Also even if no physical contact is done, just if the talk is off it can be address as a sexual molestation.
I think this is only in USA for now. Lets hope and pray it will stay there.

What's worse, those damn shariast Islams also follow this new law and are even forcing men to wear hijab or face the lash.

Cambodia. The equivalent of living under a rock..... Used to be that way for Christmas...not so much these days.
The #metoo thing has been going on a year now. Even males support it. That Harvey Weinstein has a lot to answer for.

It's worldwide, dude
Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

It started with an exposé detailing countless allegations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. But soon, personal stories began pouring in from women in all industries across the world, and the hashtag #MeToo became a rallying cry against sexual assault and harassment.
But the #MeToo moment has become something larger: a lens through which we view the world, a sense of blinders being taken off.
What do we do about the fact that men accused of mistreating women shaped the story of the first female presidential nominee of a major party?

What does it mean that men who have masturbated in front of, groped, threatened, paid off, and in some cases raped their colleagues also made so many films and plays and comedy acts that made us laugh or cry?

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

I'm curious how women who subscribe to this ideological movement view the role of seduction. Is the suggestion of consentual sex sufficient grounds for harassment? Does it all have to be boxes of chocolates, Valentine cards and cutsy but innocuous flirtation?
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

I don't subscribe to an ideological movement, but, then, some would question if I am woman. I'll answer anyway.

Cutsy and/but innocuous is awful.
There's a middle ground. Find it.

Standard Cambodia bar pickup line of “Is there some barang in you? ...{no}... would you like some?” is still in the clear I believe? #MeChgai ;)

"There's a middle ground. Find it.."

It would seem that just looking for, much less finding that middle ground could cause a defendant to say "Good Morning Your Honor."

When someone is interested in your sexual advances then I think you'll find most people are ok with two consenting adults doing their thing, #metoo is more about not grabbing their arse in the lift.

I love the ones that pop up 20 years later saying "I sucked his dick for my career, and now that I am here, I want to raise the issue"

And then there is this.....

so.....dont sexually harass me, but choke me later....
