Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Day after day: Sihanoukville's in-and-out cruise ship visitors.

Sihanoukville port - The foreign cruise ships stop one after another in Sihanoukville port. All of them stop at 7am to allow passengers to debark for a one-day visit of the lovely city of Sihanoukville before setting sail the same evening at 18h for the following destination in Thailand or Vietnam.
On February 6, 2019, at 7 am, a ship with 288 foreign tourists and 195 crew aboard stopped for a day visit to Sihanoukville.(above)

The next morning, 7 February, 2019, yet another cruise ship docked and disembarked their passengers for a day's exploration of the port city.

Thus, many of Sihanoukville's tourists are only here for a day and are barely noticed by the population.

What do they do in Sinoville? What is there to see for a day out?
I guess Tuk Tuks would make a killing from them.

I wonder if you get a full page visa when your hanging around in snooky for a few hours.

I'm assuming they just get the $15, 72 hour, transit Visa. The few transit visas I've received in my travels we're just entrance/exit stamps, but never gotten a Cambodia transit Visa so not sure if it's a full page one.
