Id have thought by now the word would have got around with regards to free lancers and locking all your stuff up. Suspect the insurance claim is being substantially bumped up.

Hmmm, it's interesting that he lost

a diamond-ecursted(sic) crucifix necklace worth more than 2,000GBP.

I'd say that a 2000 pound diamond crucifix (that's more than US$2500) is a pretty normal thing for a 56 yo English guy to be traveling with. And of course you would leave it lying around in your hotel room. And then of course you'd invite two strange women off the street to your room. Excuse the mess, don't sit on the crucifix. Those are real diamonds.

Update: The thief has been identified as a 62-year-old woman. She said that she stayed the night in the man's room because she was too drunk to go home. The woman admitted to stealing the crucifix and some money, however, she told police that she only stole 10 pounds, not 1000.
