Re: Flash Floods in Sihanoukville
Boy Swept into Storm Drain and Drowned
Sihanoukville, Cambodia Breaking News: Very sad news. A little boy who was playing in a canal has drowned this afternoon, after he was swept away into a storm drain at around 3pm in District 3, Sihanoukville.
Due to the heavy water flow, the boy was swept through the canal for about one and a half miles, and plunged down a storm drain under the road until he came up on the other side. The family took the boy to the Sihanoukville provincial hospital for treatment, but the doctors confirmed the boy had already died before arriving at the hospital.
The family has now brought the body back to their home to hold a traditional funeral. District 3 city authorities immediately went to the victim's family to offer them some financial support.
RIP

Re: Flash Floods in Sihanoukville
Cambodia Breaking News (Sihanoukville): On September 14, 2019, heavy rainfall caused particularly bad flooding in Sihanoukville, once again. This rainy season has been difficult for Sihanoukville inhabitants and there have been repeated episodes of flooding in the main town area.
The authorities reported that there were many houses and roads affected by the flooding, and some houses were badly damaged and full of water, but fortunately nobody was injured.
The police, the royal gendarmerie and the patrolmen, went to help people who were flooded out, and the provincial electricity department decided to cut off the electricity in flooded areas to prevent any accidents.

Re: Flash Floods in Sihanoukville
Sometimes I long for the old days of Shitsville, it was a fucking dump then and it seems far worse now. That place is cursed.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Cambodia News (Sihanoukville): On January 11, 2020, heavy rain caused flooding in Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville. The rubbish from the canals blocked the water evacuation, so that houses in the area were flooded out and some streets are impossible to navigate.
