Drinking Water Filter
<t>Evening, all !<br/>
<br/>
So a few years ago, when I lived in Bangkok, I got hold of a filtration system - two shiny stainless steel tanks connected with a length of armoured hose which filtered all the water coming out of one tap in the kitchen, saved loads of sweat and bother in not having to carry those 20-litre bottles too, changing filter (ceramic, as I remember) was a lot cheaper than those bottles. A few years later I found myself in a flat in Bangkok with one already installed - only one cylinder but I found it was just as effective.<br/>
<br/>
So, (where) can I buy one of those systems here in Phnom Penh ?<br/>
<br/>
That's all, thanks for reading !</t>

Re: Drinking Water Filter
I got one of these for... hmm.. about $30? On Street 107, one of the bathroom supply stores by Orussey Market.
Replacement filters are $15 a set.
BTW PP tap water has been rank for over a week now, I think they have forgotten to put the chlorine in. Normally it's good but lately it smells and tastes like a swamp.

Re: Drinking Water Filter
Looks like we will all be needing those water filters, but I guess making threats to businesses and withdrawing licences will improve the quality and taste of water a little bit ?

The government yesterday threatened to withdraw the licenses of private water operators that fail to expand their operations in rural areas and are not contributing to enhancing access to clean water in the country.
the minister said, “If private water supply operators want to keep their licenses alive, they have to expand the water networks. If not, we will withdraw their license starting next year.

Re: Drinking Water Filter
It seemed to get better about a week ago. I'm not smelling chlorine, but I'm not smelling swamp either so it's definitely improved. I took the opportunity to replace my water filters.
