Phnom penh, Cambodia News: The remains of a body were found on a wasteland site at 7:10 am on November 28, 2018, in Trapeang Por Village, Kok Rok Commune, Preak Pnov District, Phnom Penh.

The construction worker who came across the corpse was shocked when he saw something that resembled a head in a plastic bag and immediately called the police. The body was divided from the head, and both pieces were wrapped in plastic garbage bags.
So far, the only information given by police is that the deceased is male and appears to have died about a month ago.

The one picture of the head in the Darknet thread doesn't match these photos what clearly show a skull.

Scale wise, that would be a very big skull, I think.

Police in Prek Pnov district are investigating the gruesome killing of an unidentified Korean man after the upper part of a decomposed body was found in a bag thrown onto an empty plot of land in Kork Roka commune on Wednesday.

District police chief Colonel Chin Kimthuy yesterday said that villagers found the bag containing the torso and head, which were wrapped in tape, at about 7pm on Wednesday and alerted police.

“According to a DNA test, the victim is a Korean and we suspect he was a man because the hair was short and the ears were not pierced, he said. “He was probably killed at least 15 days ago and the killers cut the body into two and put the upper portion in the black bag which the villagers found.”

Col Kimthuy added that police have yet to identify the victim or suspects. He urged those who have lost a family member to contact the police.

Col Kimthuy said that the Korean’s remains are now being kept at a pagoda in the commune for further investigation.

Colonel Eng Sorphea, municipal general crimes department chief, yesterday said police will find those behind the killing.

“We have still not identified the victim and are looking for more clues,” he said.

Strange that the victim is identified as a Korean national, yet police are calling on the locals to identify him. To be continued.

That's some solid investigative work going on there, I hope they catch the culprit soon. 8)

UPDATE: Korean news says that Cambodian police have made no visible progress in the hunt for the killer or killers of Park, a Korean man whose dismembered body was found outside Phnom Penh in November.

Korean man killed, dismembered in Cambodia
By Jung Min-ho
7 April 2019
A Korean man was found dead and dismembered in an apparent homicide in Cambodia five months ago but the investigation has made little progress, according to the Korean Embassy in Phnom Penh Saturday.

The embassy said the person, only identified by his last name Park, 59, was found dead at a garbage dump on the outskirts of the city on Nov. 28 after he went out with $60,000 cash for a business deal on Nov. 13.

When police found his body, the lower half was missing, which his family found six days later at the dump.

After an autopsy, Korea's National Forensic Service concluded Park was choked to death.

Korean Ambassador to Cambodia Oh Nak-young urged Cambodian authorities to investigate the case thoroughly, but police have not been able to identify the primary suspect.
