Monk Stabs a Woman in Love Triangle Jealousy

Banteay Meanchey, Cambodia News: On November 24, 2018, at 06:15 am, a woman was seriously injured after being stabbed by a monk in Sangkat Psar Kandal, Poipet.
A witness said that before the incident a woman screamed for help, and then local people rushed to the scene to find a woman covered in blood in a Highlander car plate no. PP2T3263. The victim was sent to the hospital immediately for treatment.

Local people said that they suspect that the crime was caused by jealousy because of another man. A monk was detained and taken into custody by police for questioning about the attack.

Update: The monk had given some money to the victim to start up a small business. He had promised to leave the monkhood and marry her. But when he remained a monk, the woman got tired of waiting, and she broke up with him and got herself another boyfriend.

The monk was angry and jealous. He set up a meeting with his ex-girlfriend, and when he got into her car, he pulled a chisel out from under his robe and stabbed her multiple times.

The suspect has been defrocked and is no longer a monk. The woman is still in hospital.
