Unidentified Foreigner Dies After Fall from 13th Floor Condominium, Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: A foreign man is reported to have died on November 22, 2018, after falling from the 13th floor and landing on the 5th floor of Borey Sendok condo tower, street 598, Sangkat Phnom Penh Thmey, Khan Sensok, Phnom Penh.

The police said that after receiving a call from the building security, they went to the scene to examine the body, and determined that the deceased was an unidentified foreigner, wearing jeans without a shirt.

For the moment, there is no information as to the cause of the fall. The body has been taken to keep at Steung Meanchey pagoda, and police are searching for his identification. RIP

The cops have already said that he died of severe head and body injuries.

They also say that he was about 160 cm tall with grey hair and a moustache.

Was that before he fell or after he fell ?

- At about 16:10 on 22 November, a guest at condominium B, Sangkat Phnom Penh Thmey, Sen Sok District,came to report to the staff that a body was lying on the ground near the elevator, so they called the police.
According to Mr. Vuov Voeun, chief of staff at the condo, the victim was not a resident there. Sen Sok police officials have suggested that the unidentified male victim, was a foreigner, possibly 1m60 in height, with gray-hair and a mustache.

UPDATE: CCTV footage shows the victim, a dark haired foreigner wearing a red baseball cap, enter the building where he climbs to the 13th floor, gets up on the ledge and jumps. The body was discovered on the 5th floor.
The deceased was not carrying a passport or ID card, and he remains unidentified for the present.

Police continue to search for the victim's identity.
It's been reported that this is the second time that someone has committed suicide from the Sen Sok condominium. According to kohsantepheap daily news, a businesswoman called Yim Dem also committed suicide by jumping from the seventh floor of the building on March 19, 2017.
