Water Festival Schedule?

Post by bvanfossen »

Of course I cannot find a schedule in English online for the Water Festival.

Does anyone know times of events? When the races start/end each day? Times of musical performers?

Ty in advance

We sat in the tourist tent yesterday. There were plenty of comfortable seats available. They even give you a free bottle of water.
You see a lot of pairs of boats racing to the finish line. Then the fireworks and parade of illuminated boats began at 6pm.
Outside of the tourist enclave, it's very busy with people walking and sitting. Riverside is closed to traffic up to street 130. In theory no traffic is allowed east of Norodom but there were plenty of bikes and tuktuks getting through as far as street 19. Tuktuks available in huge numbers, no doubt ready to charge massive fares. Most of the people from the provinces seemed wise enough to ignore them and walked instead. Grab actually has a half price promotion during the Festival.

Walking this morning along riverside and saw cleaners sweeping along river and collecting rubbish in bags. No sweeping into the river this year. About 50 to 70 people and trucks to cart bags away.

Well done PP Council.

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.
