Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. just goto money changer FFS and change to USD.

I would love to see your reaction if you went to a government office in Oz, trying to pay for your new passport in Aussie Dollars, and they told you to go to a money changer and get Pound Sterling or something. Just sayin'......
No. They would say that they don't accept cash, only electronic transfers.

Yep, Visas and Visa EOS can only be paid for in USD...Riel not accepted.

Passport officer removed for riel rejection

The Interior Ministry’s General Department of Identification has transferred an official to the Passport Department for disciplinary reasons – she allegedly refused to accept Cambodian riel banknotes as fee payment.

The General Department of Identification generally accepts Cambodian riel as payment. Anyone refusing to do is singularly to blame, and must recon[sic] with a review of their actions and possible punishment.

Lieutenant Colonel Kry Navy, who worked at the ID Dept. Office in the AEON Mall in Sok City, was accused via Facebook of no [sic] accepting riel as payment of service fees for passport applications. She is said to have asked a passport applicant to pay in US$.

The department stated on Friday (Nov. 16) that Seng Sokrem applied for passport at their office in the AEON Mall on Thursday, and although the normal service fee is 400,000 riel, Ms Navy demanded that he pay $100 – the equivalent of 420,000 riel.

They argued over the exchange rate and Ms Navy refused to accept riel banknotes; she demanded that Mr Sokrem to pay in US currency. He gave in and paid in US$, but later criticized Ms Navy’s actions on Facebook.
