Grizzly Bear Snacks on GoPro and takes Selfie-B.C., CAN
http://youmebear.com/2014/10/10/gopros-story/I use GoPro’s to collect images of bears that are higher resolution than my trail camera images. The cameras size mean they are relatively discrete, so usually ignored by the bears. Their small size also means I can carry several of them with me and use at a moments notice. Being waterproof is a bonus and their case is seemingly bear proof too, as I discovered recently. I also use them to record interactions between people and bears, with the person wearing the camera. On this occasion however I was given a glimpse of what it would be like if the bears carried the cameras. Oh the possibilities!

Another cool Grizzly Bear plays with Salmon
Super B.C. country NatureThis is a trailer of sorts for the next stage of the project. I’m using images from my own bear encounters to tell the story of human bear relationships that are grounded in coexistence. The video moves through bear habitat on the west coast of British Columbia, from Forest to rivers teaming with salmon and shore lines. But not everything is as it seems, perhaps you’ll notice the subtle clues of human cohabitation in all the shots. The next stage of this project will explore the enhanced human modified landscape that hosts an array of wildlife and many brown bears.
