ER Visa for US Citizen Under 55 Years Old in Cambodia
ER Visa for US Citizen Under 55 Years Old in Cambodia
I'm going to retire from the US military next year. I am well under 55, but I will have a substantial pension.
How strict are they on the age requirement? I have been to a few websites. I know the requirements, but I'm wondering if they are flexible if you provide proof of income. Thanks.
If it's been discussed already, forgive me. I wasn't able to find it in the forums.

You need a notarized letter from your embassy here stating you are not working and are not seeking work. There will be a fee for the letter but then no problem.

So far as I know: Under 55 you have to give proof of your retirement, which you have in the form of your disabled or other pension. That's all. If you ever get a check by officers they would only see your monthly bank slips so that they know you're not working to have money.

The letter really Only ever verified that it is ur signature, NOT what you wrote as ur pension/income $$ as true
They Never verified what you said was true or not and have said its not their job
Started off with the UK embassy stopped issuing the letter and Australia and has since followed.
Expect many expats to be packing to their bags and departing Thailand unless they can come up with 800,000 ( 400,000 if married)

But, since when you need a notarized letter from your embassy, for a retirement under 55 in Cambodia?

Up to now, you have never needed one. That however may change by the time the OP gets here.Sidewalker wrote: ↑Mon Nov 05, 2018 2:47 pm But, since when you need a notarized letter from your embassy, for a retirement under 55 in Cambodia?
OP, the rules and regs here can change weekly. Frankly, any advice you are given now will probably be wrong/out of date by the time you get here next year. In fact any advice you are given today, well intentioned or not, may well be wrong/out of date by next week.
