Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: An attempt at bag-snatching occurred at 9:45 am, Wednesday, October 31, 2018, outside Sisowath High School, Street 178, Daun Penh district, Phnom Penh. The victims of the attack were an unidentified foreign couple.


Before the incident, the two foreigners were walking down the street in front of Preah Sisowath High School, when suddenly two suspects on a motorbike, with Phnom Penh plates 1I-2664, swooped in and seized the woman's bag. The woman held on to her bag firmly, causing the thieves to fall off the bike. One of them was quickly surrounded and detained by passers-by who had seen what was taking place. The suspect was then handed over to police officials. The other thief made his escape and is being sought by police.

The suspect was identified as Minh Ying Tui, a 16-year-old male from Vietnam, living in the Ramsar side of Sangkat Chak Angre Leu, Khan Meanchey, Phnom Penh.

The suspect appears to have sustained slight facial injuries from the fall.
