Funeral cost

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Who is the veteran? There may be friends who can help. Speak to Rockoff, Larry and Rudy.

Have you got in touch with the Veteran's Affairs for assistance?

Its a frustrating thing when you are trying to bury a friend. You nay not be aware but the American Embassy responds to an American death every single week in this country.
It is not the Embassy's responsibility to pay for repatriation, it is the individual's responsibility to have ex-pat insurance or funds to cover is such an event occurs. When that doesn't happen relatives are asked but as in this case, some do not have the funds or desire to help.

While going for the cheapest option sounds good, I strongly recommend to let the authorities make a certificate of death and have it legalized at MoFa. If next of kin need it later for whatever reason it will be pain in the *ss to prepare the document at that time.

Why would you pay it? Just refuse. They'll cremate him eventually.

Great work PIEMAN, every man deserves to die and be buried with dignity. Way to make the EXPAT community stand out and remain respectable.
