Begpacker in Vietnam gets told

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Guys a bully. As bullies do he chooses a weak victim. If he really wants to get his dose of righteous indignation aggression surely he could find a more deserving victim.A meth-pusher perhaps.

Stated by shnoukieBRO "You're not listening to the comments: Regardless of that you don't go up to a stranger like that. He is probably more in the right than the doo Gooder was in the eyes of the law.
Leave Vietnamese Police sort out their problems."

The comments are based on not reading the original post which covers off the fact that the guy is as SCAMMER... Obviously Tim is not as accepting of how you approach the situation but pissed off.
Things may be different Chinkville but the cops will not sort out the issue.... I suggest you, instead of indirectly endorsing scamming locals offer another suggestion.

I read the report and stand by my comments. It was no business of that American to assault that begger.
In doing so the bigger will be forced to steal instead. See clever clogs, there isn't a simple answer to this one.

the guy is a professional begger, you only had to read the comments on the video which has over 700+ comments, 3,000 likes and over 1000 shares to see the support...

i saw him once and he said he need 300.000 VND a day to take care for his son and wife. i gave him 500.000 that time.
oh my...
He also told me the passport story too, and said that he just got a job at ILA language shcool like a teacher, so that they hadn't paid him yet. He gave me his facebook and email too. The story was very reasonable...

Thank you mate, thank you. We need the one with brain as you. Many of our people get scammed and there are people still give him support without knowing the truth. And then, they blame all fault for government.
