Frenchman Victim of Phone Snatching Near Independence Monument, Phnom Penh
Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: On October 24 at 10:40 am, 2018, one of four suspects, identified as Ly Jimmy, 29-year-old, was arrested after snatching a phone in broad daylight from a Frenchman in a tuk-tuk, on Sothearos street, Khan Chaktomok, Phnom Penh.
The police said there were four suspects on four motorbikes, and one of them rode up to snatch an iPhone 8 from the Frenchman, who was a passenger in the tuk-tuk. The victim shouted out loudly for help. The local police heard the cries and chased the suspects, and while one of them was arrested at the Independence Monument, the other three suspects ran away to escape.
The police confiscated the suspect's motorbike and took him to Khan Daun Penh police station.
