Kampot, Cambodia News: On 27 September 2018, a pickup truck loaded with boxes of soap labeled Lix was apprehended at Kampong Trach by Kampot Provincial Police, led by Mr. Khan Sophal, the deputy provincial prosecutor.
The counterfeit soap was imported from Vietnam and destined to be sold in Banteay Meanchey. However, when stopped and searched by police, the driver of the vehicle insisted that the boxes of soap were for his own personal use.

Takeo warehouses raided over smuggled soap

Anti-economic crime police in Takeo province on Friday raided two warehouses suspected of storing illegally imported soap from Vietnam.

Police said the raids were conducted in Daun Keo city and Tram Kak district with the participation of a provincial court prosecutor.

Bout Phat, a city police officer, yesterday said the goods were counterfeit and smuggled from Vietnam.

“Provincial police came to the depots in the city after a company that has exclusive rights to the product filed a complaint saying that the warehouses were storing fake goods,” Mr Phat said.

Provincial anti-economic crime bureau chief Vong Hokly could not be reached for comment.

However, Mr Hokly identified the product as Lix in a police report and noted that BDC Limited Cambodia has exclusive distribution rights.
