PETA, that would be the organisation that euthanises most of the animals for which it raises money to "rescue" and keep alive?fax wrote: ↑Wed Sep 19, 2018 5:53 am I feel like I’m somewhere between cooking them alive and flying them on first class tickets. This is like watching a debate between the far left and right.
PETA twats have been swarming Twitter about this for a while. They say that Cambodia’s brutal treatment of dogs is hurting the tourism industry. They all stay home so we suffer. LOL!
Hey, someone do me a favour and try to Google Search "PETA memes" in Firefox and see if you have to complete a captcha - I never have to complete captchas, unless I'm searching something controversial...

And by advertising, we mean creating jobs for themselves. So, they literally get a wage as animal activists from collecting and euthanizing animals.

I find it a Little bit strange to see, that a guy spent 3500 $ to rescue a dog to save him from the hungry humans, who just have enough to eat....look at the street children in PP.
Cambodia have other Problems than rescuing Dogs from "dog eaters"......With the 3500 $ you can help a whole Family over a year. This guy doens't fell a Little bit stupid in this part of the world, when he gives an animal better condiutions than humans ?
In some parts in the world, the People aet dog like we eat Beef or porc. I also like Dogs, but where is the difference to a cow or porc ?

Vincent:
Want some bacon?
Jules:
No man, I don't eat pork.
Vincent:
Are you Jewish?
Jules:
Nah, I ain't Jewish, I just don't dig on swine, that's all.
Vincent:
Why not?
Jules:
Pigs are filthy animals. I don't eat filthy animals.
Vincent:
Bacon tastes gooood. Pork chops taste gooood.
Jules:
Hey, sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie, but I'd never know 'cause I wouldn't eat the filthy motherf***er. Pigs sleep and root in shit. That's a filthy animal. I ain't eat nothin' that ain't got enough sense enough to disregard its own faeces.
Vincent:
How about a dog? Dogs eats its own feces.
Jules:
I don't eat dog either.
Vincent:
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal?
Jules:
I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
Vincent:
Ah, so by that rationale, if a pig had a better personality, he would cease to be a filthy animal. Is that true?
Jules:
Well we'd have to be talkin' about one charmin' motherf***in' pig. I mean he'd have to be ten times more charmin' than that Arnold on Green Acres, you know what I'm sayin'?

I know you weren't condoning what I'm about to comment on, but I need to rant on this issue.
I personally have no issue with what people use as a protein source, as long as it's humanely killed, it's not endangered, and it's not somebody's pet and they're unaware it's about to be eaten. I've seen the still-alive results of "people" laying into a live dog with a machete, cutting off it's jaw and genitals and slashing at it for sport, and then attempting to fry it alive, in oil, to listen to it scream louder. While I'm sensitive to and aware of the cultures of others, this descends below culture and is of itself animalistic, and can't be excused in the name of any culture or religion.
Comparing that sort of subhuman behaviour to cuddling your pet ... I can't even.

Thank you, no I wasn't condoning it. I meant that after a year I still have a lot to learn about local culture. Torturing anything, humans, animals, is so far beyond the pale, beyond what I can understand it is literally I in fathomable to me, nonetheless, it happens. My point, was that as a protein source it is no different than any other, and of course examples of animal cruelty can be found everywhere.

Re: Foreign Man Saves a Dog from a Dog Meat Shop in Cambodia
Not many people keep cows or pigs as pets.
Millions of people, perhaps billions, keep dogs as pets.
It's not about the meat, it's about the bond.
I suppose if you've never known the dog, and it isn't someobody's pet...
