Bangkok open list of suggestions....
This coming up January I will be going to Thailand for 9 days with my Fiancee, mother and father. My parents came last year but we stayed in Cambodia.
What are some personal favorites, mainly Bangkok or Chiang Mai, that you can think of?
Your contributions will affect our holiday, so let's have it.

For what it's worth, I haven't read any good reviews recently about Koh Tao.

I'd suggest bypassing Bangkok altogether, unless you just want to go shopping and check out the night life, its just another city.

Re: Bangkok open list of suggestions....
its an amazing city but the traffic AARGHHHHHH,
few things i suggest
take a taxi to the end of silom road Visit the jewelry trade center an than walk down to the pier behind the oriental hotel an take a the local ferry over to wat Arun an have a traditional massage
Get back on the boat an take it to the end an than jump on a local boat that travels down the small khlongs
head back to Bangkok knowing u have seen the real Bangkok
Grab a taxi and tell him to take you to Khinlom Chomsaphan http://www.khinlomchomsaphan.com/ for dinner
other than that do the tourist stuff
Dont care much for Chiang Mai but a visit to Doi Suthep is very nice if its not grey/cloudy,
Night market is VERY touristy but there is a good food court there.
Chinag Rai, a few hours north is much more laid back

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Go to Hemingway's on Sukhumvit Soi 14. Old Thai house converted into a bar and restaurant. Great garden and quiet as hell.

Doubt it. I know the owner Craig and he's only been to Cambodia once for a couple days 2 years ago, & it was with me. I don't think he's hanging out on CEO.Sir_Quality_U_Feel wrote:Shameless self-bump
