New pin for passport officers?

Post by newkidontheblock »

Just went through passport control today. Officer in the passport booth was sporting a new pin on his lapel. Instead of crosses rifles (infantry), pin was in the shape of a jumbo jet.

Does the RCAF have a bomber force? Or is this just a new insignia is being a member of the passport service?

Not obvious to me.

Looked up Cambodian Air Force. Did not find a single strategic bomber listed.

Wish I could’ve taken a picture of it. But being passport control, there would’ve been issues.

“Excuse me Sir, I notice your pin is different from others I have seen. Out of curiosity, what is that plane? Do you mind if I take a picture of it?”

I don’t think there would be any problem. In the worst case he would probably ask you not to and to move along. You’re white, just smile. They won’t bother you unless you take their hot water or something.

Hey, at the speed that you travel through immigration in Cambodia, those guys deserve all the medals that they want.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

I’m not white. Hence the severe hassling I received at the ministry of sexual exploitation. Would prefer to know for my own curiosity but not willing to create any waves.

Just a few points from your post Newkid...

Infantry - Army...Not Police, Not Immigration
Crossed Rifles - Doesn't always necessarily refer to an infantry unit. Some specialist Police units wear this. Department of Immigration don't wear this insignia.
Passport Officers - Part of the Department of Immigration, not the Police or RCAF (Royal Cambodian Armed Forces)
Bomber Force - Hahahaha! No... they've got a few ancient Migs that never leave the runway or hangers, a few heavy transports, a few choppers including gunships...but no 'Bomber Force'

Thanks for the pointers. Maybe that passport control officer forgot his hello kitty pin that morning and decided he was in the mood to put a four engine passenger jet on his lapel?
