Meanings of place names

Have questions or resources regarding Khmer Culture? This forum is all about the Kingdom of Cambodia's culture. Khmer language, Cambodian weddings, French influence, Cambodian architecture, Cambodian politics, Khmer customs, etc? This is the place. Living in Cambodia can cause you to experience a whole new level of culture shock, so feel free to talk about all things related to the Khmer people, and their traditions. And if you want something in Khmer script translated into English, you will probably find what you need.

Why not just offer informed corrections without knocking his head off?
Some did follow your kind advice. But the depth of his ignorance defies allotted space. For. example not knowing the difference between the Khmer word used in the present continuous and the word for port.

And I’m still not sure it isn’t a clever attempt at comedy.
For example, the legend of Lady Penh is pretty widely known. But he has come up with another bizarre explanation.

A landing for what if not boats? Port seems appropriate.

Ignorance is harsh. At a lower level is all.
Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

A port is a kind of landing. No, Saom is some sort of plant or fruit, I can't remember which.
